Background

Mill Spring was once the home of Korean War veteran and Medal of Honor recipient Bryan H. Womack, for whom the Womack Army Medical Center of Fort Bragg in Fayetteville is named. It is also the side of the Reverend D. Jones House, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was constructed in 1897 as the home of African-American community leader Reverend Jones.
